That's why I should go into podcasting instead. Everyone knows Internet audiences are much less fickle! ;)

That does sound very good, Jeff. I am quite impressed. One of my professors in graduate school said that I should persue a career in radio too... and no, it had nothing to do with my grades! (I graduated with a 3.5) However, be warned... Radio is a VERY fickle business. I have two friends whom I listened to for 12 years on a Sacramento radio station before one of them was let go without warning. It's the one business where you can be fired without the customary 2 weeks notice. He's now a copy writer for an advertising firm and does weekends on a country station that I can't receive from my home. The remaining part of the pair had been jumping around between time slots, and recently resigned as well to persue something outside of radio. Just be careful what you wish for. ;)

Re 1999 dates: Looks like this is a known problem with the NeoSmart XCache for WordPress plugin. It looks like my problems weren't occurring until March, which was when I upgraded to WP 2.5. I did use the NeoSmart plugin for the XCache object cache. I've just disabled the plugin and manually tweaked the database entries for the affected posts. The good news is that disabling the plugin just disables the object cache and not the opcode cache, which works outside WordPress at the PHP level. I also use other caching plugins (i.e. WP Super Cache), so I doubt I'll miss it. (In fact, the site seems a little snappier to me at the moment.) Of course, the caveat of things like WP Super Cache is that I may have to clear that cache for the dates to actually get updated in the feed. Not sure about that... let's find out....

Nope, the dates have updated... although they're technically four hours off (GMT vs EDT). Not that I'm all torn up about that at all....

@semmelbroesel: Thanks. I'm sure the commenter immediately below you won't take offense if you still haven't heard those podcasts.... ;)

@John: Not sure what's up with the dates in the feed. Obviously, WordPress is showing the right dates on the pages, so I doubt it's anything in the WP core. I'll check my plugins and see if there's something interfering, although looking at the list I can't see what it might be.

Jeff,

Congrats! When you guest hosted my podcast I knew you had potential. BTW, all of your posts are showing up with the same date in your RSS feed: November 29, 1999.

Wow, this sounds highly professional, I'm not kidding!
Congratulations! :-)
And now we even have a voice to the face of GPF :-)
(Well, unless you listened to the webcasts on Jesus Geek - which I have downloaded but never had the time to listen to so far - oops...).
I hope you have fun doing this!
