I appreciate that you aren't jumping on the bandwagon. As someone who uses a non iPhone smartphone, it is becoming annoying how many content providers don't think like you. So, thank you kindly, sir.

For something content-driven like GPF and other webcomics, I don't really see why anyone would bother with dedicated applications. Unless you're doing some sort of really custom interaction, it just doesn't seem to make sense. I mentioned Howard's Schlock app, not to dismiss or belittle it in anyway, but because he's really trying to add value with custom content and "optimized" views. That said, I personally believe everything I said above; why would I want to cut off 86% of all mobile users because 14% have a phone that's the "cool" thing to own.

If any sort of dedicate GPF app emerges, I think it's going to be more likely that it will come out for Android, though. If all goes according to plan, I'll have an Android device soon and I'm already experimenting with developing for it. But I can't think of anything I'd really do beyond what I'm already doing on the site, aside from maybe building something specific for my admin tasks.

I think this is a great decision. For a "product" such as GPF, a web version is all you really need. I haven't been very happy with comics on the iPhone anyway, but your mobile version works great. Thanks for doing it!
