Weekly Twitter Updates for 2009-06-27

June 27th, 2009 by Jeff | Dump Core

  • Upgrading GPF server to new OS image. The watched pot and all that jazz…. #
  • GPF server upgrade appears to be a success. Now waiting for CPAN to install tons of required Perl libraries before turning crons back on. #
  • OK, Twitter integration seems to be down, so no auto-tweets from GPF on site updates for now. No time to research and fix now. #
  • Never mind last tweet. Upgraded CPAN and convinced it Net::Twitter was OK. Don't forget: new strip on Sunday (7 days per week)! #
  • Oh, and @slicehost rocks. Server upgrade was painless except my own goofs, and Slicehost VMs meant GPF was only down for maybe 1/4 hour. #
  • New GPF: http://bit.ly/iin8k #
  • GPF server upgrade survives first automated update. (Yep, new strip today!) But outgoing e-mail isn't working, & no time to really debug. #
  • Outgoing mail still down, storyline drop-down lists also seem to be broken. No time to fix either, will have to wait, maybe until Wed. #
  • New GPF: http://bit.ly/KgYJU #
  • Dear MySQL: Why does mysqldump export the entire database EXCEPT stored procedures & functions? Why? Why? WHY???? #
  • OK, e-mail problems at GPF *should* be fixed. Combo of not updating Postfix config + PHP GPG function mysteriously not working were culprits #
  • If you encounter problems w/GPF, PLEASE let me know. Upgrade bugs should now all be squashed but it's hard to tell with so complex a system. #
  • New GPF: http://bit.ly/kqL39 #

  • The more I read about the Pre, the less enthusiastic I become about Verizon getting it in Jan. [Clutches Treo 700p muttering "my precious"] #
  • New GPF: http://bit.ly/17t8Un #
  • Some notes from Jim for those with comments about his… voluptuous art style: http://bit.ly/E1Kck #
  • Started "Moving Pictures" (Discworld #10) by Terry Pratchett this morning via Audible #
